After our lord's prayer, the most well known and loved teachings
of Jesus are the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12) and the I AM statements
(sprinkled through the writing known the gospel of John). The Beatitudes
are the "how to" for living in the state of consciousness
referred to as "the kingdom." They clarify the attitudes
requisite for feeling the joy Eshoa promised (see future essay "Be
Attitudes"). The I Am statements are John's way of describing
what Eshoa's presence, words, and life meant to him. I agree with
Dr. Errico that Eshoa (who in Matthew says in effect "don't
call me good; only Alaha/God is good") would not have expressed
such grandiosity about himself (see essay on I AM's); Dr. E substitutes
"my teachings" for I AM and thus Eshoa's teachings become
the way, the Truth, the light, the nourishment (bread), the shepherd
(guiding principle), etc.. Still many of us find great meaning in
the I AM form when we understand it to refer to the I AM presence
within all (see books by Dr. Neil Douglas-Klotz: www.abwoon.com).
As such, these affirmations can help us individually and collectively
to align ourselves with our infinite potential as a re-presentation
of the Infinite Life Power/Being who lives in and through all.
