Seven "I am" statements
wherein St. John describes

what the teachings of Eshoa/Jesus are for him
and Tomas adds his titles and lyrics

(Tomas's overall title)
Refreshing Simplicity

I am the bread of life
"nourishing"
The true essence of life is ever-fresh,
and renews us with enthusiasm to access
the blessedness of every bite consumed.
Innana lakhma dchayye Jn6:35

I am the light of the world
"illuminating"
As night recedes with the sun,
likewise blindness leaves the minds of we
who stand beneath teachings which suffuse
the Universe with understanding.
Innana nuhre dalma Jn8:12

I am the door
" inviting"
The entry way opens for the open-hearted,
and we are pardoned by our own pardoning,
as we meet within this safe and sacred place.
Innana thara Jn10:9

I am the good shepherd
"guiding"
The affectionate teacher hears and is heard,
calling creatures each and all,
to the circle of peace and protection.
Innana raya thava Jn10:11

I am the resurrection and the life
"living endlessly"
Those alive with Spirit never die
as ever lifting currents give them air,
and purifying light declares "no fear".
Innana nuchama uchayye 11:25

"showing the way"
I am the way, the Truth and the life
The Beloved exists, as an irresistible lamp,
handed from one lover to another,
embracing wayfarers with the clarity of truth.
Innana urha vashrara ukhayye Jn14:6

I am the vine; you are the branches
"growing as one"
Communities bear fruit
through sharing from cherished sources,
and caring for their orchards.
Innana gpitha wa aton shabiste Jn15:5
